I've recently discovered that the blogging community has a number of awards to recognize small bloggers and help them gain exposure to interested readers. A fellow blogger, Hannah Pasquet, recently reached out to me to tell me that she enjoyed reading the blog and would like to give me the Liebster Award! These small stamps of approval are extremely helpful in making bloggers feel good about their little contributions to the world, and I'm grateful to be apart of all this.

THE RULES:
  • Display an image of the award in your post.
  • Share the rules in your post.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and post a link to their blog.
  • Answer the questions that were provided to you by your nominator.
  • Nominate 4-11 blogs.
  • Supply questions for your nominees to answer.
  • Contact your nominees; let them know they’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award and provide them with a link to your post.

THANK YOU, HANNAH!
I've only just discovered Hannah's blog, but I love how simple and elegant it looks and how thorough her reviews are. She sprinkles her posts with great pictures so you'll never get bored reading them! Hannah blogs about beauty, fashion, and lifestyle, but you can find writings about anything from food to the holidays on her blog, The Pask Gubbins (which is a very unique and intriguing name!). I'm excited to read more from Hannah!

ANSWERS:
  1. What book have you been putting off reading? And why? Red Queen, by Victoria Aveyard. I've heard phenomenal reviews about the book from my avid reader friends, but I just haven't found the time to read it. I've also read many dystopian novels and I'm afraid this one will be redundant.
  2. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be? I've been to quite a few places, but I've never vacationed anywhere in Europe. I'd love to go to London or visit my friend in Switzerland! I also would be really happy to go to somewhere like Japan, although I've traveled to Asia before.
  3. Why is blogging important to you? I have always loved writing, so blogging gives me a way to put that writing to use and help make it the best it can be. The things I blog about require some research, so having this website helps me gain lots of new facts and knowledge along the way.
  4. What are your top three lifetime achievements? I'm still pretty young, so I haven't gathered that many achievements, but I have completed a five-day Outward Bound course where you hike in the wilderness with no access to the internet, which I think is pretty impressive!
  5. If you had one day left to live, what would you do? I wouldn't want to spend the last day on a plane, so I'd go somewhere kind of nearby, like the beach (assuming it's summer) and I'd eat my favorite ice cream with my friends and family while enjoying the ocean. I'd sit outside and listen to my favorite music and maybe later I'd visit all the places that meant the most to me as a child (schools, home, etc).
  6. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world (alive or dead) who? And why? Queen Elizabeth, because she seems like she would have so many gripping stories to tell. Or an interesting author, like Jane Austen/JK Rowling. Or Walt Disney, because he seems so imaginative. There are so many to pick from!
  7. What is your favourite animal? And why? I haven't really thought about this before. I like birds though, because they seem so free and whenever someone asks what superpower I wish I had, I always say flying.
  8. What fictional place would you most like to go? Like all people, I'd love to go to Hogwarts, but I'd also love to visit Central Perk from Friends or the Capitol from The Hunger Games. The place in Gulliver's Travels where everyone is miniature-sized seems awesome, too.
  9. What are you interested in that most people haven’t heard of? I love hand-lettering and calligraphy. I don't have the fancy pens or markers, but what you can do with pencils and a few sharpies is honestly just as good. Calligraphy is a great stress-reliever, and the results are always beautiful pieces of art.
  10. What do you feel thankful for today? I feel thankful for all these times that I get to live my life in, because although there are so many problems, there is also an immense population of people who are making the world very cool. I love how technology is becoming better each day so you can connect with great people all over the world- like the people who are reading this right now!
